While the video is being fixed...I will do finger puppets of Knut and Thomas Dorflein for today.

Thomas come so to the enclosure...Knut is laying on a pile of croissants listening to his new iPod, with a new giant ball Thomas asks Knut where all the croissants, iPod, and ball came from. Knut pulls out a Visa Platnium card with the name of Thomas Gottschalk on it....Knut says that Sugar Daddy Gottschalk gave this to Knut after the media frenzy the other day...and said for Knut to buy something nice for his birthday and something about Dancing Girls...Papi what are dancing girls for? asks Knut.

Thomas gets red in the face and tells Knut that Dr. Schuele will have that little talk with him very soon about "picking up the babes, and dancing girls."

Bleibe weiterhin so ein fescher und fröhlicher Junge, der den Menschen viel Glück bringt, welches dann wieder zu dir zurückkehrt.

Oh Sisisignora, die Schamesröte steigt mir ins Gesicht beim Gedanken, dass sich King Knut nicht einfachen gymnastischen Übungen verschrieben hatte, sondern dass sich hintern den Bewegungen etwas Unehrenhaftes befinden könnte, dies mit CanCan äh canard zu tun haben könnte und unsere Majestät letztendlich sich mit dem einfachen Volke vergnügen und einen Ententanz aufführen möchte.

Doch ich vertraue darauf, dass alles wieder ins Lot kommt. seine Majestät von dem heutigen Festtag neu beflügelt wurde und sich in Zukunft der echten abendlichen Gymnastik befleissigen wird.

Ich wünsche allen einen schönen Abend.

I assure you - I really could hear you all singing!! There was some howling from Texas (no hard feelings Eva??), a Knuzzosoprano from Germany - it must have been Knucilia, little samba tunes from Brazil, 'riktigt hygge' from Denmark, a little unsynchronized singing from the Knuti Sisters from Finland, beautiful tones from Taiwan, France, England, USA, Poland, Venezuela, Argentina....I hope I didn't forget anybody but I really did hear you all. We have to add some more points of sympathie today
for Mr. Klös!

Mr. Klös knows much about bears! espcecially what young bears like Knut want.
He allows Knut to play with the jute-bag, although he (Mr. Klös) knows very well that there is inside some unnaturally sqeaky toy.

This is the proof for:
Mr. Klös loves our little Knuti.
So Mr. Klös is not able to refuse a Knuti's wish.
He only hides this sentimental feeling in front of the tv-camera.

I don't doubt that Heirner Klos is a good man and loves animals and knows a lot about animals....He just says things like pumpkin season for polar bears...and it just seems odd because last time I checked there were no pumpkins in the arctic...:) I think he is camera shy....

Just read online in Sbeagle News that Doc Schule found his bicycle with two flat tires today. He's reported to have been very upset at the prospect of someone sabotaging his transportation to work and is keeping his own counsel as to who he suspects. Replying to the reporter interviewing him with flushed face and rushed speech, Doc Schule spoke of the important appointment he had with Knuti today to discuss the birds and the bees with him...Doc Schule was quoted as saying he would now have to ask Herr Klos, who knows a lot about bears, to take his place and help Knuti understand the fine art of "getting the babes." The yellow candy man reportedly offered to fill in for the Doc, but alas, Doc Schule consulted with Herr Dorflein and both thought better of that idea. 'Course I used babel-fish to translate the article; I could be wrong....xo k-j

Guten Morgen alle Knutianer!

I loved watching the latest video of Knut and the pumpkin! When Halloween comes, NOW I know how one should be cut up: I will put it on the floor and JUMP on it with my front paws till it breaks - ha! That's the answer!

Something always puzzles me about Knut's food: I can understand polar bears eating fish and meat, but apples, pumpkins, carrots, and dare I say it ......croissants....especially chocolate ones......... - that's never struck me as food that one would naturally find in the Arctic??? I guess it must be that all bears are naturally omnivorous and will basically eat anything edible. He really is an extremely lucky bear to have such a wonderful selection of food.

Und Hallo Frau Schnatterliese im Abendschau!! So nice to SEE you!

Talking of croissants, I hope all the Knuti choir enjoyed their mass sing and croissant-fest yesterday: Catherine - what a nice idea that was! I'm afraid it was slap bang in the middle of my church choir practice and I think they would have been a bit surprised if I had got up and started singing "Happy Birthday dear Knuti" in the middle of it all! I did buy a box of croissants the other day and ate rather a lot of them, so that was very nice!

The leaves are changing to brown and gold, and are just starting to fall from the trees - every time the wind blows there is a rainfall of leaves. It is a perfect day today - very quiet, no wind, clear blue sky, and just a little bit cold, telling us winter is on its way...

Fall is still a little ways off here in OK. Temperatures in the mid-90s, sunny, trees still green, but starting to show just the slightest bit of color change. I am looking forward to the cooler temps too.

or the epidemy... absolutely contaminated by "knutitis" walking and running around the zoo... speaking portugues, spanish, english, and other "strange" languajes??? what if... my GOD!!!!!

The best way to get rid of wild oomlots is to leave pumpkins lying around. It's a well-known fact that oomlots like to nibble holes in pumpkins, and then hide inside them. When polar bears come along, the pumpkins get bounced on, and wham! no more oomlots!!

Haha..I had so much fun reading about the oomlot's being everywhere in the zoo! I wonder where they went when Knuti broke the pumpkin! Maybe they got out as soon as Herr. Klos threw the pumpkin in Knuti's gehege. That's why his name doesn't have any oomlot's (umlaut's:))..he...he!

Ich möchte auch wieder mitmischen:)....
Ich danke Euch ganz, ganz herzlich, auch im Namen meiner Familie, für all Eure lieben und persönlichen Worte, Eure Anteilnahme, Euren Trost und Euren Beistand und für Eure virtuellen Umarmungen, bitte fühlt Euch auch von mir gedrückt:)! Ich war einfach überwältigt, wie spontan und „maschinengewehrartig“ Eure Einträge erschienen und die Tränen rannen und rannen...! Ihr habt mir geschrieben, daß es Euch schwerfällt, tröstende Worte zu finden - ich weiß natürlich, was Ihr meint, mir geht es in solchen Situationen auch so – aber genau das habt Ihr! Sehr berührt hat mich auch Eure Offenheit, von Euren eigenen Verlusten und Erfahrungen zu sprechen, Eure Worte haben mich so sehr erreicht! Nun war ich eine Weile „unsichtbar“, ich habe mir zwar eine kleine Schreibpause „auferlegt“, aber keine Blog-Pause, Ihr wisst ja, KNUT TUT GUT:)! Unser Bärchen und sein Blog sind schon lange ein sehr wichtiger Bestandteil meines Tagesablaufs und ganz besonders jetzt eine richtige Stütze. Ich habe regelmäßig reingeschaut, nach Möglichkeit jeden Tag, um auf dem laufenden zu bleiben, und wenn es mal ein paar Tage nicht ging, weil mir nur noch die Augen zufielen und ich mir eingestehen mußte, daß es keinen Zweck hat, dann habe ich aber flugs alles nachgeholt. Ich habe mich über Eure lebhaften Einträge gefreut und die Fröhlichkeit und gute Laune hier haben mir soo gutgetan. Und natürlich die Fotos von unserem Sonnenschein:)......So etwas Wunderbares!! Bei all meiner Trauer, es ist eine Freude und läßt mein Herz hüpfen, unser aller Liebling so glücklich und rundum zufrieden zu sehen, wenn er sich übermütig auf seinem geliebten Rindenmulchbett räkelt und wälzt, seine niedlichen Tatzen in die Luft reckt, uns sein rundes Bäuchlein präsentiert, mit seinem Jutesack spielt und Faxen macht, oder mit Papi kuschelt und nuckelt, diese Innigkeit und Vertrautheit zwischen den beiden ist eine Augenweide und ich kann mich nicht satt sehen.

Ich gebe zu, es geht mir gerade gar nicht gut und ich bin schrecklich erschöpft. Morgens wache ich schon erschlagen auf und so manches Mal wünsche ich mir, einfach liegenbleiben und noch ein wenig ausruhen zu können...Aber ich will nicht rumklagen, das wird auch wieder besser, es braucht nur seine Zeit. Es gibt noch so viel zu tun und zu regeln, denn die Beisetzung steht uns noch bevor und wir wollen alles bis ins kleinste Detail liebevoll und perfekt arrangieren, es soll an nichts fehlen. Ich denke, danach wird auch wieder die nötige Ruhe einkehren. Eure guten Wünsche begleiten mich auch weiterhin und geben mir Kraft:). Ich bin zwar gerade wieder ziemlich im Rückstand, was Einträge und Fotos betrifft, aber ich habe schon gelesen, daß unser Sunnybear einen neuen Jutesack mit Quietscheball hat, mit dem er wieder schön spielt (war auch gestern in der „Abendschau“...?)...es wartet also konzentrierte Knut-Medizin auf mich und eine Überdosierung kann es ja niemals geben ;)

Happy Birthday, mein Schatz, nun bist Du schon stolze 10 Monate und ich wünsche Dir alles Liebe und Gute, leider erst heute, denn gestern habe ich es einfach nicht geschafft und darüber bin ich sehr betrübt:(. Es war das erste Mal, daß ich nicht pünktlich zu Deinem Geburtstag dabei sein konnte, es soll aber auch gleichzeitig das letzte Mal sein! Ich habe aber den ganzen Tag an Dich gedacht und zwei Schoko-Croissants auf Deinen Ehrentag verputzt. Ja, nur noch zwei Monate und dann ist es soweit, dann ist Dein ganz großer Tag:)! Ich habe mir schon vor vielen Monaten ganz fest vorgenommen, Dich am 5.12. zu besuchen, ist doch klar! Uiiihh, das wird was werden, wenn sich so viele Menschen und auch viele Deiner Freunde hier aus dem Blog vor Deinem Gehege versammeln und Dir ein Ständchen bringen:).
Ein schönes Geschenk hast Du zu Deinem Fast-Geburtstag bekommen, aber leider, leider....nein, es quietscht nicht, aber dafür hat es doch bestimmt geschmeckt, oder? Ich habe mich jedenfalls köstlich amüsiert über Dein Video, vielen Dank:)!

Knutimaus, die Admins stehen aber stramm, wenn Du mal mit der Tatze auf den Tisch haust, hast sie gut im Griff;). Dafür haben sie aber Deine Seiten toll aufgeräumt und überholt, sag´ ihnen mal ganz lieben Dank. Und übrigens, für Dein süßes Baby-Foto von Thomas Ernst habe ich natürlich auch schon gestimmt und ich hoffe sehr, daß es den Preis gewinnt! Nächsten Monat werden wir es erfahren...

Marion, da hast Du ja wieder feine Fotos ausgesucht für den 4. Teil Deiner Zeitreise und die „Rauferei am frühen Morgen“. Schön, daß Du die Tage an der Nordsee genossen hast. Es hat mich sehr gerührt, daß Du auch im Urlaub regelmäßig hier reingeschaut und sogar einen Beitrag gestellt hast, es geht eben nicht ohne Knut;)....An dieser Stelle möchte ich auch Alex und Simone und allen anderen, die zur Zeit verreist sind, „Gute Erholung“ wünschen. Liebe Ulla, ich habe die kleine Finnisch-Übung nicht vergessen und möchte sie auch gerne beantworten, nur leider habe ich im Moment überhaupt keine Unterlagen zur Verfügung:(. Ja, es stimmt, ich war zwar mal im schönen Finnland, aber nur im Urlaub, leider hatte ich dort keinen Unterricht. Die Sätze, ich Dir neulich schrieb, habe ich mir selbst „zusammengebastelt“, nachdem ich im Internet eine Vokabelliste und ein bißchen Grammatik gefunden hatte. Oje, bestimmt wimmelte es vor Fehlern.... Aber jetzt ist meine Vokabelliste futsch, wahrscheinlich werden die Seiten überholt, es steht jedenfalls nichts drin. Ich muß mir unbedingt ein vernünftiges „sanakirjan“ besorgen, auf das ich mich verlassen kann und möchte mich auch richtig mit Grammatik befassen, vielleicht kann ich dann hier ein bißchen „üben“?
Natürlich habe ich mir auch Sanna´s Seiten angesehen, das hat sie wirklich sehr schön gemacht:). Besonders „Knut in Helsinki“ ist sehr kreativ und witzig! Mir gefallen auch die Fotos von Baby-Knut, die sie ausgesucht hat, um die Überschrift einzurahmen, soo süß:). Ja, Knut ist ein“Pelzengel“, se on unia.

Meine liebe Schweizer Blog-Freundin! Ein ganz lieber Extra-Gruß an Dich und ein herzliches „Dankeschön“ für das schöne Gedicht, das Du mir geschickt hast:). Die warmen Worte haben mir gutgetan und ich habe es mir auch abgeschrieben. Jetzt habe ich doch eine ziemlich lange Pause gemacht, wollte aber allerspätestens zu Knuti´s 10-Monats-Fast-Geburtstag wieder zurück sein (hat aber leider nicht ganz geklappt), denn das alles hier fehlt mir sehr und natürlich das Kommunizieren mit Dir:). Ich hinke mit dem Nachlesen ja immer noch ein bißchen hinterher und wie ich mich so durch die Blog-Landschaft wühle, entdecke ich plötzlich meinen Namen in einem Eintrag von Dir:). Liebe Ursi, Dein lieber Gruß vom letzten Sonntag war eine so wundervolle Überraschung, daß ich erst mal aufstehen und tief durchatmen mußte, denn damit habe ich nicht gerechnet! Obwohl ich schon eine ganze Weile nicht on-line war, hast Du an mich gedacht und mir einen Gruß geschickt, einfach so, auf´s Gratewohl. Darüber und über Deine warmherzigen Worte habe ich mich riesig gefreut und ich danke Dir sehr. In meinem ganzen momentanen Wust von Kummer und Sorgen war das wie ein warmer, heller Sonnenstrahl:). Ich merke gerade mal wieder, daß es manchmal gar nicht so einfach ist, in Worten auszudrücken, was man empfindet, ich hoffe, es ist mir einigermaßen gelungen...

Hier noch eine kleine Tiergeschichte: Ich hatte vor ein paar Tagen einen Fahrgast am Auto (wohlgemerkt, nicht IM;(...), ein „blinder Passagier“ sozusagen. Eine kleine Kreuzspinne (ich hab´ sie „Thekla“ genannt;) ) fand den Platz zwischen Außenspiegel und Fahrertür wohl ideal, um ihr Netz zu spannen, was ich natürlich sehr schmeichelnd und rührend finde;). Aber leider hat sie die Rechnung ohne den Wirt, sprich, Fahrtwind, gemacht und als ich losfuhr, war die Ärmste in ihrem Netz diesen „Stürmen“ erst mal ausgeliefert, denn ich hatte sie beim Einsteigen noch gar nicht bemerkt, erst als ich schon unterwegs war! Ich fuhr natürlich besonders vorsichtig und so langsam wie möglich weiter (fast ein Verkehrshindernis, hihi), aber sie wurde natürlich trotzdem ordentlich durchgeschüttelt. Da es zunächst keine Möglichkeit zum Anhalten gab, war ich sehr besorgt, daß sie nicht durchhalten könnte, aber „Thekla“, ganz clever, krabbelte schließlich, entnervt von dem Gerüttle, hinter den Spiegel, um Schutz zu suchen. Als ich das nächste Mal in´s Auto stieg, war sie verschwunden. Wieder beim Fahren mußte ich allerdings feststellen, daß sie in der Zwischenzeit nach rechts, zur Beifahrerseite, verholt hatte (wohl in der Annahme, dort sei es besser...). Also ging das ganze Spiel von vorne los. Ich glaube, daß sie dann aber doch endgültig genug davon hatte, ständig ihr Netz erneuern zu müssen und hat diesen unbeständigen Platz verlassen, es hängen nur noch Netz-Fragmente herum. Schade irgendwie, aber natürlich gut für sie, ich hätte sie sonst sowieso mitsamt dem Netz in ein Gebüsch gehängt, wo sie es ruhig hat. Es ist übrigens nicht das erste Mal, daß ich so einen besonderen Mitfahrer hatte, ich möchte mal wissen, was an meinem Auto dafür so anziehend ist;)...

Ich wünsche Euch allen ein sehr schönes Wochenende und noch einen schönen Abend, ich stürze mich jetzt erst mal auf die neuesten Einträge und Zooberichte und „knöpfe“ mir Eure Fotos und Videos vor und was es sonst noch Schönes gibt:)

@MERVI: No, it's not Thanksgiving weekend. I'm not sure where that started. Thanksgiving is always the last Thursday in Novemeber. And the day after is the biggest shopping day before Christmas. All the retailers have great sales and most everyone hit's the stores and Malls. Except me. It's just too wild and way too many people!!!

schnief....ich muß echt sagen: die Stadt brodelt! Ein Wahnsinn! Toll toll toll...jetzt muß München sich erstmal wieder einschmeicheln...
Knut meinte es wirklich gut mit meinem Besuch! ich war schon um 9.50h im Zoo. Und Knut zeigte eine perfekte Knut-Show. Er schwamm und spielte so schön mit seinem Jutesack! Eine Wonne!
Gar keine Wonne war ein Freak-Besucher. Nachdem Knut über eine halbe Stunde geschwommen ist, vielleicht schon länger vorher, hat er es sich wieder auf seinem Bett bequem gemacht und soooo süß geschlafen. Tatzen vor die Augen und gut wars. Dieser Freak schrie die ganze Zeit: "Knuuuuuhuuut. Nicht schlafen, Fotoshooting. Wir haben alle Eintritt gezahlt, nicht schlafen!!!" Da ist mir Knutianer aber die Hutschnur hochgegangen! Ich bat ihn nicht mehr ganz so höflich damit aufzuhören. Er würde doch auch seine Ruhe haben wollen wenn er schläft. Echt, manche sehen in Zootieren nur Objekte - ich zahl dafür dann will ich auch meinen Spaß haben. Dann soll er doch ins Kino gehen!!! I...t!
Ich konnte mich ganz schlecht von Knut trennen, weil ich mir dachte, dass es wohl das erste und vielleicht letzte Mal war, dass ich ihn sehe. Mal sehen wohin es ihn mal verschlägt.
Fotos und Videos zeige ich Euch morgen, muß erstmal schauen, wie das mit Webshot und youtube funktioniert.

Back from our 3 days 600km trip to Berlin. This city is really great! Was there there the last time 10 years ago. Today: so many new buildings etc. Life is great there. Really great.
Yeah, you translated it correctly. When we arrived at Berlin on Thursday, we immediately went to the zoo AND MET TD AND THE OTHER TWO KEEPERS TWO. I had the chance to talk to TD. I congratulated him on his award etc. He is really a smart guy. The best daddy Knut could ever have!
This morning I went again to the zoo and Knut showed a perfect Knut show with swimming and his toys. I really appreciated this! There was a freak among the visitors. When Knut was sleeping so nice after swimming this freak was shouting all the time: "Knuuuut, don't sleep, it's fotoshooting time! We all paid for entrance fee, you cannot sleep!" This was too much for me real Knutian! I asked him to stop this. Believe me I was not too polite! Freak!
Guys, it's late, we have just arrived again in Munich, tomorrow I will show you my pictures and videos.

Danke für Deine Reportagen aus Berlin und aus dem Zoo. Wenn ich so lese, wie Du von der Stadt schwärmst, dann fühle ich mich (als Berlinerin) ein kleines bißchen geschmeichelt.
Aber ich kann Dir sagen, wenn du hier lebst, dann kann es Dir auch manchmal ganz schön auf den Wecker gehen, daß hier "so viel los ist"... Vielleicht hast Du auch gehört, daß jetzt als "Attraktion" für Touristen ein Riesenrad gewaltigen Ausmaßes d i r e k t neben dem Zoo errichtet werden soll. Starke wirtschaftliche Interessen natürlich, wie man hört, ist nichts mehr zu machen. Baustelle, Lärm, Dreck jahrelang - direkt neben dem Zoo, der eine e c h t e Berliner Attraktion ist!
Mit wird schlecht, wenn ich an diesen - ja - Größenwahn denke.
Und zu guter Letzt wird dann noch eine Riesenpleite kommen...

Diese Geschichte mit dem Schreihals vor Knuts Gehege ist ja wirklich empörend. Du hast sehr gut reagiert! Wenn das alle täten, dann könnte man diese Besucher vielleicht mal zur Raison bringen. Ganz ehrlich: solche Leute sollten einfach rausgeschmissen werden. Und zwar umgehend! Es ist nicht "artgerecht", wenn die Tiere, die oft einen viel empfindlicheren Gehörsinn haben als wir, sich ein solches Geschrei anhören müssen. Du hast toll reagiert!

Thanks a lot for taking out the time to get together. It was so much fun and I had a great "Knut-time" (am sure you did too!). The "croissant" moment was so beary lovely that I'll remember it forever. So was going through all the kute Knuti Fotos and reliving them again. I hope that one day in near future we can do a repeat performance, this time in front of Knuti's enclosure:)

It has been very busy here, but I can't/won't go to bed until I have seen Knuti's blog....all of it! So...this is the fourth night in a row that I am using toothpicks to keep my eyelids open. I can't end the day without making contact with Knuti and the Knutians....it has become as necessary as air and water.

I have seen so much wonderful stuff in the last four days (nights) that I want to applaud. For now, just what appeared today.

@Sabby: Your zoo reports made me feel like I was standing right beside you. Can't wait for your photos and videos! Everyone is talking about Papi's blue eyes....hope you got a close-up so we can all admire them.

@Connie: I used Dictionary.com to read your touching post. Your post is evidence that no matter what language is used to write, we Knutians all speak the same language...the language of caring, comfort, and laughter. May your burden of grief lessen as each day passes.

@Sanna: Are you kidding? Choose a favorite picture of Knut??? I have printed so many of his pictures for my albums that I am up to Album Five and counting. I have yet to see a pcture of Knuti that has not touched my heart or made me smile, or both. I looked again tonight at each of the favorites that were given....I will never tire of seeing them all, so it will be great to have your list. Wonderful idea!

Knuti-Judi: Your Doc Schule bicycle stuff is hilarious. An Andre Schule recently competed in a bicycle race which was reported on the web. If he was one of the bunch in the picture, there were so many and they were all wearing helmets. But...perhaps this is where he has been. Then again, maybe not....this Andre Schule did not finish the race.

@Oomlot Gang: One of the wackiest, silliest, and FUNNIEST conversations that has ever appeared on this blog!!

@Christina M.: How do you read Knuti's mind so well?? It's great to know what he is thinking as you snap his pictures. A Little Night Music....love that choice, my favorite composer. Did you know Eva Gregory would like to have two more Rotties, so they could be called Wolfgang, Amadeus, and Mozart?

@Liesel: Well....the real story of the birthday celebration! How do you get into the zoo at night to see what goes on? Do you wear a disguise?

@Catherine: I am honored to be a member of the Knutian Choir, founded by you. I stood on my front porch at 2 pm and sang Happy Birthday to Knuti over and over again while eating my croissant....not an easy thing to do without choking. Then my neighbor signaled me that Clydene had called to tell me those guys in the white coats who always chase her were heading for my street with a great big butterfly net to catch me with. I think possibly one of the neighbors called them because I am not a very good singer...but I am a loud singer. I narrowly escaped back into the house just before they got here, thanks to Clydene...a really good Knutian who really cares about all her Knutian friends.

@All: I wish there was a stronger word than "Thanks" to express gratitude. We say that word so often to each other, but maybe we don't need a stronger word..."Thanks" never loses its meaning on this blog.

If I was a millionaire, I would charter some planes and send them around the world to pick up each and every Knutian and take them to Bearlin for Knuti's 1st birthday. If that doesn't happen (I will have to win the lottery or sell my first-born child or something), I hope Catherine will cook up another appearance of the Knutian Choir and Gabi aus OK will synchronize our watches again so we can all be together on that great day. We will be together in a way....as Mervi, Mervi, Mervi says, we are all under the same sun, moon and stars!

Meine liebe "Nachteule", wie schön ist es wieder von Dir zu hören !
Vielen Dank für Deinen speziellen Gruss an mich, Deine warmherzigen Worte haben mich sehr bewegt. Habe immer an Dich gedacht und wie es Dir wohl geht und letztens wollte ich Dir einfach zeigen das ich Dich nicht vergessen habe....... Ja, es war zwischenzeitlich viel los hier im Blog, aber zum Glück ohne Gehässigkeiten. Es ist momentan wirklich schön "Mitglied" des Blogs zu sein auch wenn ich Deine Nachrichten und Tiergeschichten sehr vermisst habe. Für mich ist der Knut Blog ohne Connie einfach wie Knut ohne TD :-) Ich bin froh das es Dir (den Umständen entsprechend besser geht) und das Dir Knut mit seinen vielen clownigen Facetten ein bisschen Freude in der momentan schweren Zeit schenkt und wenn wir Blogger auch noch etwas tun können um Dir ein Lächeln zu schenken, dann freut es mich sehr.
Ich musste wirklich schmunzeln, ab Deiner Geschichte mit Thekla (uebrigens cooler Name:-) , ich hätte genau so reagiert. Man kann es der kleinen Spider Woman aber nicht verdenken das sie nicht vom Winde verweht werden wollte und sich desshalb wahrscheinlich aus dem Staub gemacht hat...
Ich bin glaube ich bald ein Fall für die Klappse, jetzt rette ich nicht nur die Schnecken mit Häuser, nein, jetzt müssen es auch noch die braunen ohne Häusschen sein. Ich denke halt einfach,wenn die so inmitten des Gehsteiges sind, haben die keine Chance und so habe ich halt (nicht mit blosser Hand) mit einem Taschentuch diese letztens auch gerettet. Hätte mir jemand zugeschaut, hätte er mir den Vogel gezeigt :-) Egal, bin halt so und will mich auch nicht ändern.....
So, das wurde wieder ein langer Beitrag, wollte nochmals betonen, das es mich sehr gefreut habe, wieder von Dir zu lesen und hoffe das Du bald wieder Zeit findest Dich zu melden.
Ich wünsche Dir weiterhin viel Kraft vor allem für die bevorstehende Beisetzung, die sicher nochmals alle Kraft von Euch fordert und hoffe das es genau so wird, wie Ihr Euch das wünscht.....

Danke für Deinen Zoobericht. Recht hast Du, das Du dem Kind die "levitten" gelesen hast und Ihm die Meinung gesagt hast. Knut ist nicht ein Pausenclown, wenn er seine Ruhe haben will, dann ist es auch sein Recht und wenn er denn ganzen Tag verschlafen möchte (was er ja nie tut) dann wäre die auch OK. Er soll tun und lassen können was immer er möchte......
Kann teilweise solch dummes Verhalten der Kinder aber leider auch von Erwachsenen nicht verstehen, leider gibt es nicht wenige davon. Hauptsache Knuti lässt sich nicht aus der Ruhe bringen.....

Es gab wieder so viel Schönes in den diversen Blogs der letzten Tage, und nun weiß ich gar nicht, wo ich anfangen soll mit der Dankestour. Möchte auch nicht so viel Platz hier in Anspruch nehmen mit Einzelansprachen, also mehr oder weniger global:

Freue mich auf alle Fälle, dass SANNA wieder aufgetaucht ist. DORO IIs kleine Gedichte sind weiterhin auf gut Deutsch "priceless". CHRISTINAs liebevolle Fotos und Untertitel "always make my day", so auch die von MARION (hast Du eine chronische oder fortschreitende Krankheit? Das würde mir sehr seid tun für Dich. Ich hoffe, Du überwindest sie!). LIESL/RENÉ, was ne hübsche Kegeltour und man beachte diese niedlichen Details in den Zeichnungen, wie z.B. die Kugel auf die Rückhand nehmen - grandios! Und, LIESL, die "Schaufelproblematik" ist einfach der Knaller, wie auch die "Prügelage" vom Ernstl - könnte beides non-stop wieder und wieder gucken. MERVI und CLYDENE; Ihr beiden seid einfach witzige Personen, da gibt es immer was zu lachen. SIMONE R. (Fruehlingsstern): ich las zwischen den Zeilen, dass Du wohl irgendein Problem zu bewäligen hast im Moment. Da drücke ich Dir fest die Daumen, dass der Urlaub heilende Wirkung hat und dass es Dir bald wieder richtig gut geht. LUISA + JAZMIN, auch Eure Beiträge sind immer kurzweilig und phantasiebegabt. BAUZ, Du provozierst auch immer wieder herzliche Lacher ("Sitzsack": shocking - das ist ja glatt ein Fall für das wiedervereinte IngavonMünchen-Sisignora-Madame-Team!!). Einen echten Brüller hat heute übrigens das SOFA bei mir ausgelöst - Vatti zu Knut zu entsprechendem Foto: "ja, ja, ich tu Dir ja schon den Gefallen - quietsch-quietsch" - einfach saugut (hmm, jetzt werd ich wohl wieder etwas gedeckelt, weil ich ja nicht zu den "Würdigen" gehöre - halt ich aber schon aus...).

Zuckerbärchen, Du zitterst? Hoffentlich aber nur vor Freude über Deine Dir so treu bleibende/n Gemeinde/n. Sei geknuddelt - und wenn's Dir Freude macht, quietschen auch wir mal unisono für Dich (nicht!?, Gemeinde/n!?)

Deine Bilder sind immer soooo schön. Aber die Bilder vom 6.10.
finde ich ganz besonders schön. Ist wohl richtig, dass Eisbären in einem Alter von 10 Monaten, wie Knut jetzt, nicht mehr soo niedlich sind, aber bei Knut ist es anders. Isch künnt en bütze.
Frag mal Liesel, was das heißt.
Ich hatte mal einen Kater, der hatte bis zum letzten Tag sein Babyface nicht verloren. Das war Candy. Der sah so aus, wie er hieß: ein Sahnebonbon . Alle meine Katzen waren einmalig, aber dieser Candykater, über den komme ich nicht hinweg.

Hallo in die Schweiz, nein der Freak war kein Kind, es war ein ERWACHSENER! Die Kinder waren alle leise, bis auf die ganz Kleinen, aber die verstehen es natürlich noch nicht. Mich hat so ein Überpapa angequatscht und gejammert, dass das ja der Kinderbereich sei wo ich stand. Ich wollt schon sagen, mir kommen gleich die Tränen. Nur war es so, dass um viertel vor 10 halt noch KEINE Kinder da waren und ich in meinem Film und Fotowahn nicht mitbekommen habe, dass inzwischen einige Kinder da waren....Braver Knutianer wie ich bin, bin ich dann zu den Erwachsenen...

Auch ich möchte mich bedanken, dass du uns teilhaben läßt an deinen Fotos und Videos vom Zoobesuch. Für mich sind alle Fotos von Knut absolut sehens- und liebenswert, das liegt wohl auch am hübschen Objekt, denke ich. Die drei Helden sind auch sehr gut getroffen und haben so brav gelächelt.
2 der Videos konnte ich leider nicht ansehen, werde es später noch einmal versuchen. Ein großes Dankeschön!

Ihr glaubt nicht, was gerade im türkischen TV lief. Mein Mein (Türke) rief mich gerade ganz aufgeregt zum Fernseher:" schnell schnell hier ist ein türkischer TD!!!" Und tatsächlich, Vollbart, Muskelshirt, ganz bestimmt KEINE blauen Augen meine Damen!!!. Er zieht einen Braunbären auf, ungefähr gleiche Größe wie Knut, dessen Mutter erschossen wurde. Er hat sogar mit ihm im Wald geschlafen....Mal sehen ob ich ein Vidoe finde.

You two founded our Knutian Poetry Forum and look what you started! What an clever, intelligent, funny, profround group of poets write for this blog! I hope you have both kept a record of your poems. We should have a site for them including that produced by our other poets. Not sure how to do that...Gabi aus OK is a technie, maybe she can help.

Anyway, I know T.D. would enjoy your work. Have you sent any to him? I write to him c/o Zoo Berlin and he does receive my letters (he has not written me...he told one of the Fototanten that he receives them). He no doubt does not have the time to respond to all the mail he must receive, and the cost of postage would really be a financial burden if he did, but he seems the kind of man who would enjoy, and even treasure, the evidences of the love feast he and Knuti have started for the world.

@Marion: No problem translating from your site with the help of the computer. It was nice that your last one had an English translation, but don't worry if that can't be done. Even in the faulty tranlations done by computer, the beauty of your words shines through.

I'm missing links to a couple of pics I like. Does someone (Christina with her super memory?! :-) happen to remember where they are? In one pic Uncle Marcus seems to tickle Knut. And Knut looks like "yikes, don't tickle!". The other one was published in Welt in April. It's Knut and Papi sunbathing/sleeping. Knut is lying on Papi's lap.

...As it turns out, Heiner Klos, Curator of the Berlin Zoo who knows a lot about bears is a dignified and somewhat shy man. But a man who when called upon never fails to deliver...So, Herr Klos decided to text-message Knuti a little intro into the birds and the bees--just to get him started...Well, Knuti knew this was an important man; thus an important message! Knuti used babel-fish to translate the text into "bear" and things went down hill from there...Knuti just didn't get the part about "procuring the babes" but thought he'd take a look around his enclosure to see if any of these "babes" were around....Knuti went to his pond and with his paws, swished the water--nope; no babes here (holy cow! We can see Knuti doing this in the videos! So that's what he's doing!!). Knuti went to his jute bag and thought: "I know what's in there! It's a babe!" (See video--Knuti is all about getting that babe outta the bag!) Nope, just a ball...Finally, Knuti went to his Papi and told him about the whole text-messaging fiasco and "grabbing the babes." Papi just smiled; there was a twinkle in those blue eyes...."Oh, my" he said. "My boy is growing up." ...Papi knows a lot about the babes.............

LeenaP, durch deinen Foto-Link bin ich auf dieses Video vom 2.10. gestoßen, als Gottschalk im Zoo war.
So süüüüß, wie Knut sich das alles von seinem Mulchthron anguckt und sich zum Schluß so lässig ein bißchen Grünzeug ins Mäulchen hängt. (Sorry, falls der Link schon mal gepostet wurde; ich komme leider nicht immer dazu, alles zu lesen.)

ich las gerade weiter oben einen Vorschlag von Retta, den ich unterstützen möchte.
Hier werden so viele schöne, schräge, zu Herzen gehende, tief empfundene und lustige Knut-Gedichte veröffentlicht, daß ich es schade finde, wenn sie einfach in den Archiven dieses Blogs verschwinden. - Man könnte sie doch aus diesem Textstrom herausziehen (keine Ahnung, wie das technisch geht -),alle auf ansprechende Weise ausdrucken, und zwischen zwei Buchdeckeln zusammenheften. -

Wäre doch vielleicht ein schönes Geschenk für TD zum 5.12. - Knut bekommt dann alles vorgelesen.

Wie gesagt: wie man das bewerkstelligen kann, weiß ich nicht - wäre aber bereit, dabei zu helfen, da ich hier in Berlin bin.-

The Cute Sascha Hingst has Friday off because he is playing Diplomacy World (The Board Game and Internet Game) with international gamers all over the world. It is part of Sascha Hingst plan to take over the world; his cuteness is only a cover for his real plans...Did you know that Sascha Hingst is an international organizer of the Diplomacy World game. So cute Sascha Hingst, with his cute smile, cute hair cut, smart suit and cute ears is also very smart; Sascha Hingst is not just another pretty face. I am Cathrin Böhme and I wearing a lovely brown/tan jacket, which looks lovely with my hair and wonderful contrast against the new picture background of the blue Berlin skyline.

Knut is now an official stamp in the country of Azerbaijan. Those of you will be flying or driving to Azerbaijan to get in line to buy the stamp at their post office. So get your GPS device and plug 41.0389 Latitude and 47.2517 Longitude so you can find Azerbaijan and buy a stamp…please make sure you get me a stamp too because the stamp is very cute… It may cost $1,000 in gas to drive there, but it is worth the drive, ya? sss

Now we have Gil Berger talking about Knut, who looks very regal in his enclosure. Heirner Klös, the curator of Bears for the Berlin Zoo, who knows a lot about bears, is showing us another of his skills; he represented Germany in the Olympics in 1972, as the worlds youngest shot putt thrower. Now he shows the crowd his moves by throwing Ice Bombs and Pumpkins into Knut’s enclosure.
Heirner Klös tells us that Dr. Andre Schuele has been sent to the Arctic Circle to harvest the rare Arctic Pumpkins. Klös, who is the curator of bears for the Berlin Zoo, and knows a lot about bears, tells us that Polar Bears especially like their natural food Arctic Pumpkins and Melons, and that the Berlin Zoo is doing their best to give the bears in the zoo their natural food and natural toys. So the bears are given sticks and pumpkins…let us know if they start building pumpkin headed scare crows to keep the vulture scare crow vultures away from Knut’s food. Added bonus, Knut’s fur took on the arctic pumpkin orange color that polar bears get this time of year during the harvest of the Arctic Pumpkins in the Arctic region.

Heirner Klös tells us that Dr. Andre Schuele was on his way back to the Berlin Zoo, but he participated in the 200 km bike race and Andre Schule was listed as a member of Team Wiesenhof Felt in the Munsterland Giro 1.2, Germany October 3, 2007. He did not finish because the women from the zoo followed him to the race and let the air out of his tires. You can find more information about the race and standing by looking at www.cyclingnews.com. We hope that Dr. Schuele will be back next week other wise we will have Heirner Klos, the curator of Bears for the Berlin Zoo enlightening us about bears.

We see Knut playing with his pumpkin like a basket ball. He found the seed in the pumpkin and tried to plant them in his mulch bead so that he can grow his own food and not depend on the shot putting efforts of the curator of Bears of the Berlin Zoo.

Heirner Klos explains to the audience that Knut is now given a bag of balls every week so that he can join Mattel for toy testing. The Berlin Zoo has all the animals working double duty. Knut now is a toy tester and the has one week to see how long it takes for the balls to be released from their new carrier bag.

We see Frau Schnatterliese telling us that the bags last only 4 or 5 days and Knut is given another one to test, so far he has been able to provide Mattel, German Toy division new testing guidelines for Polar Bear toys which will be shared all over the world.

Like many teenage boys, Knut has found “NEW” ways to play with his toys that the manufacturers did not intend for the use of their bag and new toys. Out of embarrassment Knut covers his face at the end of the Abendschau for Friday, October 5, 2007.

Cathrin Böhme, gives us the number to call and talk to CUTE Sascha Hingst…who is now on special assignment to the Berlin Zoo to talk to Knut and Dr. Andre Schuele about “picking up on the babes” and dancing girls, because he is cute and he knows about fast women in Berlin.

Sabby - your photographs of Knut are priceless but my favorite is of Thomas, Marcus, and Ronnie - how wonderful to see the three of them together - I had no idea Marcus was so tall. They are The Three Musketeers so Knut must be Dartangan (spelling???). Can you tell us about meeting the 3 of them? Sometime Marcus and Ronnie get lost in all the attention and they seem like very nice men, also.

Knuti-Judy in Connecticut where it is hot and humid like Michigan. Geez whatever happened to autumn and the cool crisp weather. Our trees have barely started to change colors. Your personal first-hand report from Knut about the "babes" is clever and funny.

Mervi - Mervi - Mervi - Mervi - Mervi: Regarding your brilliant idea of a "Spouse of Knutian Tolerant Award": I don't have a spouse so I cannot compete. I had a spouse once but well, how to say this - I didn't like him very much after awhile so now I have a dog and 2 cats. So - I will vote for Yeomoan's spouse who drives her to the Zoo and asks questions like, "is this man of interest to you?"

To All: My mini-German Schnauzer Rocco and I went on one of our long walks today and once again went oomlet hunting. I thought that moist ground after a morning rain would produce the oomlet scent so that Rocco would find them easier to locate but alas - it was not to be. Rocco found several small holes that had been dug up but all he could do was roust a mole from its hideaway in the ground. Oomlets must have very clever disguises. Even though I had hoped Rocco would be like one of those truffle hunting French pigs he has been a disappointment. I may go oomlet hunting a couple of more times but if Rocco does not have a success - if we cannot find an oomlet - then I will give up and let Rocco find another line of work.

Jazmin - which mountain do you go to?

Betsy D - I think we should have an 11th month birthday party for Knut on Tuesday November 5th and do exactly as we did this time. I will be at work but can take my afternoon break at that time.

Birgit...I keep thinking about how amazing that interview was with Knut and Simba. What an amazing dog! She has an amazing memory and mind for little details. I would like to nominate that dog for a Pulitzer Prize.

Alle: How bad do you have Knutitis? I was just at an employee meeting for my store (not my store but the store where I work) and there was a little slide show presentation with speakers. All I could think about was how I'd like to do a little slide show about Knut.

What is this question of Sanna about a favorite Knuti photo? A most impossible task, as there are far too many favorites; in fact, practically all images of Knuti fit into that category.

However, I select one from the ChristinaBerlin collection with a recent date of October 3:

It depicts Papi having come into Knuti's enclosure to tidy up the mulch bark bed, and of course, Knuti would like to play. But first, play must be prefaced by an embrace -- and this embrace is two-sided [who says animals don't have feelings?]. Papi's arms are lovingly on the bear's cheek and snout, as Knuti's closes his eyes ;-), Papi's other arm is on Knuti's back. Meanwhile, we see Knuti leaning into Papi, right paw on Papi's waist, other paw probably in contact with Papi as well. The picture appears to show that at this stage in Knuti's life, he is aware of the give and take associated with affection. For Papi, we see a man who is deeply aware of the needs of a li'l baer, and who does all that he humanly and "bearly" is able for Knuti. It is a picture of love captured which tugs at my heart strings!!

Avila' national park, a place you won't forget

El Avila National Park The park is in the North Center of Venezuela, separating the city of Caracas and its environs of the Caribbean Sea. Includes the highest peaks of the Coast Range, formed by the shock of the South-American and the Caribbean plaques. Its higher heights are the Caracas saddle, whose eastern peak rises to 2640 m on the sea level, and the imposing Naiguatá peak to 2765 m of height. Both peaks comprise of the Caracas and Central Coast geography. In first plane, to the rigth, the Eastern Peak; soon the master row and at the end to the left the Naiguata Peak. The first ascent to the Eastern peak to the saddle, was did by Alexander Von Humboldt and Amadeo Bompland in 1800. This two famous explorers made the first height measurements and atmospheric pressure in the top of the peak. They collected all tipe of insects and vegetation for its later classification. The route that they followed is similar to the actual by Sabas Nieves-La Silla-Eastern Peak. Currently there are many different paths to get to El Avila, it is strongly recommended to register your name and last name before you start your journey, as well as to be accompanied by a local who knows the mountain paths and water sources. Ich muß gestehen ich habe erst vor einigen tagen erfahren(von meinem mann thomas dörflein) das es einen knut-blog gibt!(asche auf mein haupt:-)ich möchte mich bei einer von euch ganz besonders lieb bedanken.leider ist mein englisch mäßig gut aber vielleicht übersetzt es ihr ja jemand

Ich habe hier lange nicht mehr geschrieben, sondern die letzte Zeit immer nur mitgelesen. War hier manchmal nicht so ganz einfach. Aber jetzt muss ich mich mal melden.
Ich würde mich freuen, wenn Du öfter mal mitmischen würdest, und ich finde nicht, dass Du Dich damit wichtig machst. Es ist doch schön, wenn TD auf diese Art erfährt, wie wichtig uns allen Knut ist und wie sehr wir ihn lieben. Denn so erfährt er auch mal, was uns so bewegt und wie sehr wir uns Sorgen machen, wenn es Knut mal nicht gut geht. Vom Zoo kommt da ja nicht so viel. Also, überleg es Dir vielleich noch mal.

Und übrigens, ihr seid ein hübsches Paar. Ich habe Euch gestern bei der Braunbärenfütterung gesehen. Siehst ganz anders aus, als auf den Bildern in der Zeitung.

@ Daniela: Und jetzt noch ein paar persönliche Worte an dich. Ich bin mir sicher, im Namen aller Blogger zu sprechen, wenn ich dich herzlich zur Teilnahme an diesem blog einlade. Es wäre für uns sehr schön zu wissen, dass die Liebe zu Knut und Anteilnahme an seiner Entwicklung, wie sie sich hier im blog auf vielfältigste Weise zeigt, auch im Hause Dörflein zur Kenntnis genommen wird. Darüber hinaus haben wir schon unzählige Male unseren Dank und Respekt für die liebevolle Aufzucht und Pflege des kleinen Bärchens geäußert. Vielen Dank für deinen Beitrag! Wir freuen uns, so oft du hier schreiben kann. Aber weil es hier eine andere "Daniela" schon gibt, vielleicht in Zukunft könntest du auch abklären (wie heute mit deinen Wörter), daß du thomas dörfleins Freundin bist. Es bedeutet uns viel, deine Wörter zu lesen. (Leider ist mein Deutsch ebenfalls nicht gut, aber ich hoffe, daß du verstehen kannst.)

Guten Tag Christina, Marion, Leise, Hartmuth, Admine and Daniela - Seit Marz jeder auf Knut's blog freund insel. Ich schatze mich sehr glucklich. Berliners entwerfen sicher und insel umwelt. Riesig umarmens.

What I have attempted to say: Since March everyone on Knut's blog has become an island of friends. I feel very lucky. The Berliners created this safe island environment. Big hugs.

Daniela - It is good to meet you. I am in Flint, Michigan. I sent Thomas a thank you card a few months ago with a photo of my all-white totally deaf fur-ball cat Talu who is a huge Knut video fan. I've seen your photo with Thomas - you are a handsome couple with nice smiles and kind eyes. Thomas looks at you the same way he looks at Knut (tee hee hee giggle giggle). Hope you come back to the site and join our friendship and fun. Your English is much better than my German which is pretty much nein. Another Knutian is a pleasure to have with us.

Christina: Yes - that is the photograph. Thomas and Knut cuddling - in safety and comfort with each other. The first time I saw it - I cried. Can't explain why - I just did.

Clydene - your satire is very funny. It gave me a good laugh before going to bed last night.

Jazmin - my nephew Michael says your "nap in the enclosure of my soul" is perhaps the best metaphor he has ever heard and he thanks you for it. I am going to check out your mountain.

Kepi - have thought of biceps today? Please administer quick absolution. I hang my head in shame (so you cannot see me grinning as I continue to think about biceps). Ooopppps - my request for absolution is not sincere. Hells bells.

¿Porqué Vds. no hacen mejores traducciones en vez de decir que todo es mierda? Es fácil criticar. Sería mejor decir algo positivo sobre Knut o el blog o decirle a Elke como podría mejorar su español. Esto no es solamente mi opinión, sino también la de varias personas del blog.

Ich bin mir zwar immer noch nicht ganz sicher, ob sich hier wirklich die Daniela von Thomas Dörflein gemeldet hat, oder ob es ein fake ist. Schließlich wäre es ja kein Problem, unter irgendeinem Namen etwas zu schreiben. Trotzdem nehme ich es lieber in Kauf, einem Fake aufgesessen zu sein, als ein post von der Lebensgefährtin von TD einfach zu ignorieren.
Vielleicht kann ja Retta etwas Licht ins Dunkel bringen. Sollte sich hier tatsächlich wer nur einen Spaß erlaubt haben, dann werden wir ihn in einen Jutesack einnähen und Knuti zum Spielen vorwerfen!

Wir haben ja Dir indirekt auch zu danken, daß Knutchen so ein Prachtkerl geworden ist. Ganz toll, wie Du Deinen Mann dabei unterstützt hast. Und eins sollst Du wissen liebe Daniela, wir Knut-Freunde haben längst bemerkt, daß sich im "Hause Dörflein" niemand wichtig macht.
